Bachelor of Business (Acc) from Monash 1978-1980. Worked at BHP, Mayne Nickless and National Mutual in varied roles in Melbourne 1981-1993. Then as General Manager Finance and Administration, National Mutual Funds Management Japan (1993-1998 in Tokyo). Returned to Australia in late 1998 with first child born January 1999. Have always had a strong interest in investing since purchasing first share (Carr Boyd) in 1968 Nickel boom as an 8 year old. Decided to try investing on my own on return to Australia as it was my passion and I had enough capital for it to be meaningful for the first time.
Bachelor of Business (Acc) from Deakin 1992-1997. Worked at Credit Suisse, J.P. Morgan, Citigroup and Western Asset in varied roles in Melbourne 1994-2015. From 2000-2015 I specialised in research and managing fixed income portfolios. Personally I bought my first shares in 1992 and ever since have had most of my net worth invested in the share market. I left Western Asset in 2015 to concentrate more on managing my own portfolio for a living. Since then I have been blogging about my investment journey at the site Value Investing for a living.
